Safety Precautions
For full safety precautions and warnings, see Important Safety Information.
It is important to always be powered OFF when disconnecting and reconnecting equipment.
Do not probe pins on connectors with metal objects.
If any accessories are disconnected, use a port plug to cover the port before putting the crawler in water.
Pay close attention to items such as loose clothing, shirtsleeves, ties, scarves, long hair, or anything else that may become entangled in moving wheels or components. If your fingers, hands, etc. come into contact with the moving gears, you may be severely injured.
Be aware of dangers around you, including weather, and obey all applicable laws while using standard safety procedures.
The PipeTrekker is equipped with lithium batteries, completely enclosed in both the crawler, and the controller. Under no circumstances should you try to open or disassemble the batteries or expose the batteries to extreme heat or mechanical shock such as dropping them on a hard surface.
Leaked Equipment / Hazards
If your equipment has leaked, do not proceed with troubleshooting. Please refer to the Support Website for information on leaked batteries and hazards.

Event(s) leading up to the issue(s)
Steps below may be followed out of sequence depending on the nature of the issue(s) reported.
Power OFF equipment and remove the SD card
Complete a visual inspection of the controller and tether connector.
Inspect tether for signs of damage or cuts.
Reconnect the controller and tether.
Use the Diagnostics Cable if there are any signs of damage.
Confirm Crawler and Controller chargers are behaving normally (red when charging, green when fully charged) and consider attempting charging for 15 mins before proceeding.
Confirm LED on the controller and details of loading screen if available.
If the LED is on, but the screen is BLACK > use a flashlight to shine on the screen and attempt to illuminate. If an image is seen, suspect backlight failure (note HDMI output should work).
If the crawler won’t power on, disconnect all accessories including elevating arm and camera head. Leaving only the body and tether/diagnostics cable.
If successfully boots, power down and connect 1 accessory back at a time to isolate the issue component.
Confirm Vehicle Hours
Navigate to Settings > ROV > Lifetime Hours
Check Diagnostic Pages
Navigate to Menu > Diagnostics > Faults and export the fault logs. This can be sent to your service tech.
Navigate to Diagnostics > Tether
Ensure TX/RX values are minimum ~70Mbps
Navigate to Diagnostics > Power
Check battery voltages (fully charged 20V)
Check motor current draws (and note the Speed Gain) looking for anything that’s out of spec with others
Confirm what wheels are being used & if the Crawler has wheels touching the ground (Best to test with crawler propped up and wheels not touching)
