Exporting to Third Party Software
Overview
The Pipe Trekker Control app and the BRIDGE Controller allow for reporting through third party softwares such as Wincan and PipeTech. The standard method for this involves running the third party reporting software on a separate device such as a laptop, and porting data over from our topside device. In the case of the Crawler Control app, users can optionally run their preferred third party software on the same device as our app considering Pipe Trekker Control is a Windows based application.
List of softwares that support our system:
Wincan VX
SewerAI Pioneer
CTSpec
PipeTech
PipeLogix

Multi-device setup (App to Laptop)
To use this method you will need a few components that are included in the Third Party Reporting Integration Kit:
1x HDMI to HDMI cable (PN:11187)
1x Video capture card (PN:11188)
1x USB to USB null modem cable (PN:11186)
Steps
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the device running Pipe Trekker Control, then the other end (with the video capture card on) into the USB port of the computer running the reporting software. This is for porting over the video feed.
Connect the two devices together using the Null modem (USB to USB) cable. This is for porting over data.
On the Tablet Controller, ensure the Windows multiple Display setting is set to Extend not Clone.
In the Pipe Trekker Control app, navigate to the Display Settings page then click Create Popout Window. Below this, ensure the popout is set to the 'phantom' display source created when the video card was plugged in.
5. Navigate to the General Settings page, open the Report Serial Port dropdown and choose the appropriate COM port. If you're unsure which COM port, unplug the null modem cable and plug it back in to see which COM port is added to the dropdown.
Single device setup
To use a third party reporting software running on the same device as Pipe Trekker Control, you’ll need the following cables:
1x HDMI to HDMI cable (PN:11187)
1x Video capture card (PN:11188)
Steps
If using a Tablet Controller, skip to step 4.
Download Com0Com and follow the setup wizard.
Run Com0Com and create a virtual port pair. Change the COM# to be a number below 10 and check use Ports class and emulate baud rate on both ports.
4. Plug the HDMI cable into the device running Pipe Trekker Control and plug the video capture card onto the other end of the cable. Now plug this back into the USB port on the same device, creating a loopback.
5. On your device, ensure the Windows Display Setting is set to Extend.
6. In the Pipe Trekker Control app, navigate to the Display Settings page then click Create Popout Window. Ensure the popout is set to the 'phantom' display source created when the video card was plugged in.
7. Navigate to the General Settings page, open the Report Serial Port dropdown and choose one of the virtual COM ports. If you're unsure which COM port to use, search Setup in the Windows search bar to open Com0Com a view your device's virtual ports (refer to step 3).
Exporting on BRIDGE Controller
Requirements:
A computer with 2 available USB ports and the reporting software installed
1x Micro HDMI-to-female HDMI adapter (provided, PN:11189)
1x Video capture card (provided, PN:11635)
1x HDMI-to-HDMI cable (provided, PN:11187)
1x USB-to-USB null modem cable (provided, PN:11186)
For CT Spec, we recommend higher end capture cards such as Mirabox HSV321 or Razer Ripsaw HD. Additionally, ensure the USB port the capture card plugs into is 3.0 or labeled as SS (super speed)
Setup:
Plug the micro HDMI-to-female HDMI adapter into the hand controller
Plug the HDMI-to-HDMI cable into the adapter
Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the video capture card
Plug the video capture card into the computer
Now connect the hand controller and computer together with the USB-to-USB null modem cable
On the controller, navigate to MENU → SETTINGS → SERIAL DEVICES and select the port the null modem cable has been plugged into. This option won’t show unless the null modem cable is connected:
7. Select Paired Port and then choose Report Output
8. Select a baud rate of 115200. If your reporting software is expecting a different baud rate, change it now.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you third party reporting software cannot find the serial data, try:
Restarting both the app/BRIDGE controller and the reporting software
Setting the COM ports to a number lower than 10. Some software such as WinCan requires this. This can be changed in the Windows Device Manager or Com0Com ("Setup" in Windows search bar) if using virtual ports.
