Crawler App Update Procedure

Update Menu

Note: Any Crawler App version before 1.8.2 will need to be uninstalled from the tablet or PC before updating devices. Download the latest version of the Crawler App at control.pipetrekker.com after you have uninstalled the app.

Update Options

Fully connected

With the system fully connected and powered on, navigate to the software updates menu and select check for updates. This will then compare the current firmware version against the newest available for each device connected. 

If any updates are available, they will show under each respective device. A dropdown will be available to show the release notes for each update available. 

Note: If the bridge box is currently on version 1.8-1.9, you must first update the controller and reel separately without the crawler connected, then repeat the process with the full system connected

Select download and install.

Once the Update proccess is started, it is important to keep the system connected and powered on. 

Once the updates are completed, the system will prompt to restart the App. 

Reboot the system and confirm the updates were successfully applied. 

Remote Updates

In same cases, it is not possible to have the full system connected where internet is available. 

In this scenario, an offline update package can be downloaded on the controller or separate PC and then applied to the system once fully connected. 


Either on the Tablet controller, or a PC version of the App, navigate to the software updates menu and select get offline package.

The update package will then be added to the downloads folder of the device. If completing this process with a separate PC, transfer this file to a USB/SD card. 

Once the system is fulley connected, navigate to the software updates menu and select import offline package.

Locate and select the update.dtpf file. 

This will then compare the current firmware version against the newest available for each device connected.
