To use this method you will need a few components that are included in the Third Party Reporting Integration Kit:
1x HDMI to HDMI cable (PN:11187)
1x Video capture card (PN:11188)
1x USB to USB null modem cable (PN:11186)
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the device running Pipe Trekker Control, then the other end (with the video capture card on) into the USB port of the computer running the reporting software. This is for porting over the video feed.
Connect the two devices together using the Null modem (USB to USB) cable. This is for porting over data.
On the Tablet Controller, ensure the Windows multiple Display setting is set to Extend not Clone.
4. In the Pipe Trekker Control app, navigate to the Display Settings page then click Create Popout Window. Below this, ensure the popout is set to the 'phantom' display source created when the video card was plugged in.
5. Navigate to the General Settings page, open the Report Serial Port dropdown and choose the appropriate COM port. If you're unsure which COM port, unplug the null modem cable and plug it back in to see which COM port is added to the dropdown.
To use a third party reporting software running on the same device as Pipe Trekker Control, you’ll need the following cables:
1x HDMI to HDMI cable (PN:11187)
1x Video capture card (PN:11188)
If using a Tablet Controller, skip to step 4.
If you're running the TUNNEL app on a PC, download Com0Com and follow the setup wizard.
Run Com0Com and create a virtual port pair. Change the COM# to be a number below 10 and check use Ports class and emulate baud rate on both ports.
4. Plug the HDMI cable into the device running Pipe Trekker Control and plug the video capture card onto the other end of the cable. Now plug this back into the USB port on the same device, creating a loopback.
5. On your device, ensure the Windows Display Setting is set to Extend.
6. In the Pipe Trekker Control app, navigate to the Display Settings page then click Create Popout Window. Ensure the popout is set to the 'phantom' display source created when the video card was plugged in.
7. Navigate to the General Settings page, open the Report Serial Port dropdown and choose one of the virtual COM ports. If you're unsure which COM port to use, search Setup in the Windows search bar to open Com0Com a view your device's virtual ports (refer to step 3).
8. Select a baud rate of 115200. If your reporting software is expecting a different baud rate, change it now.
If you third party reporting software cannot find the serial data, try:
Restarting both the app and the reporting software
Setting the COM ports to a number lower than 10. Some software such as WinCan requires this. This can be changed in the Windows Device Manager or Com0Com ("Setup" in Windows search bar) if using virtual ports.
