Wheels

Interchangeable Wheels

Rubber Wheels

Available on: A200, A-150

The rubber wheel sets are a general purpose option for tire material that work well for concrete and iron ductile pipes.

See the system over page for your unit for sizes available.

Carbide Wheels

Available on: A200, A-150

The flaked carbide wheel sets are designed to grip into softer materials that are susceptible to slipping due to grease like PVC or clay pipes.

See the system over page for your unit for sizes available.

Pneumatic Tires

Available on: A200

The pneumatic tire sets are designed to provide more grip on loose traction surfaces like silt, mud or other various types of debris that might be found in pipes. These tires can be inflated or deflated to the desired amount to provide optimal traction as well as the option to install a second set of pneumatic tires giving even greater traction.

Tracks

Available on: A200

The tracks option available provides ultimate traction in low grip scenarios.

Wheel Spacers

Available on: A200

Adding wheel spacers to any combination of available wheels helps to stabilize the crawler when utilizing the elevating arm in large diameter pipes.

See the system overview page for the A 200 for charts and diagrams on how this will affect camera centering in given pipes.

Whale spacers are installed in the same way as wheels. See below for instructions

Changing Wheels on an A-200

To Remove the larger wheel sets simply remove the larger wheels by removing the two Phillips Head Screws.

Cleaning Wheels

Wheels should be checked after inspections to make sure they are clear of any debris before the next inspection.  Debris caught in the wheel treads or between the body and the wheel will reduce traction and increase the power consumption of the crawler, which in turn will shorten its battery life. Cleaning the wheels should also prevent or reduce any corrosion of ferrous materials. Thus, make sure the wheels are as clean as possible after each job.

If debris is found in the wheels, use the instructions shown above to remove the wheels and remove debris.

On the A-200 it may be required to remove the hubs to remove debris that may have gotten behind them. As well it may be required to clean the tracks and tensioning system of the A-150.

For instructions on how to clean these items, see the maintenance section of this manual.
