External GPS & Improvements
Product description
With this release we will be allowing users to connect their controller to an external GPS system in a ‘plug-and-play’ style. Additionally, controller and external GPS icons have been added to the UI's top bar along with a status icon that shows the GPS's connection strength and the number of satellites connected.
Problems solved
This feature has been commonly requested by users who want a more accurate location reading by connecting to their own high performance GPS system or purchasable RTK GPS systems as compared to our controller's internal GPS option. Once connected, the controller will prioritize and begin using the external GPS, even if there is an internal GPS installed.
Compatible GPS Systems
All USB GPS systems that use NMEA protocol should work with this release. NMEA is the standard for communication between marine electronics.

Note: Icon colour and # of satellites connected are not directly related, therefore we can't tell users a certain number of satellites will put you in the 'good lock' state. We'd need to extensively test to gain this confidence.
